SAIC Motor yesterday signed a strategic agreement to establish a partnership with the Shanghai branch of China Export and Credit Insurance Corp to accelerate its “going global” plan.
Under the deal, the insurance provider will support Shanghai-based SAIC in its overseas expansion by offering information about “quality customers” and helping to select partners.
SAIC Motor, which is China’s largest listed carmaker, has been a client of the Shanghai branch of the insurer since its establishment in 2002. In that time, it has purchased policies worth US$310 million.
