Shanghai GM calls back 5,744 vehicles
SHANGHAI General Motors Co is recalling 5,744 Buicks and Cadillacs in China from yesterday due to a potential problem with the gear information transfer, China's quality watchdog said yesterday.
The company will recall 5,008 Buick LaCrosse sedans made between July 13 and March 8, and 736 imported Cadillac SRX cars made from July 11 to February 18, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
The firm said the gear information transfer hitch may lead to a drop in the engine's braking efficiency.
