Shanghai car plate success rises

IN Shanghai’s first car plate auction of this year, success rate rose to 8.1 percent as participation level continued to drop.
A total of 7,990 car plates were up for grab among 98,203 people, compared to 7,400 for 95,595 in December that saw a success rate of 7.74 percent. It is the second month for second-hand plates to be included into the car plate auction.
With the increase of the price ceiling for the first-round bids from 72,600 yuan throughout 2014 to 73,700 yuan, an average of the average winning bids in the fourth quarter, the lowest winning bid jumped 400 yuan to 74,000 yuan, while the average successful bid added 529 yuan to 74,216 yuan.
