MERCEDES-BENZ will recall 57,843 vehicles on the Chinese mainland due to risks associated with short circuits, the country’s quality watchdog said yesterday.
The move involves imported petrol-powered Smart ForTwo models made between October 5, 2010, and June 2, 2014, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The producer will fix the problem with the warm water shut-off valve, which could trigger a short circuit after being used for a long time.
The recall will start on August 22.
