Subaru recall

MORE than 7,400 imported Subaru vehicles on the Chinese mainland will be recalled starting on July 27 due to a water pump flaw, the country's quality watchdog said yesterday. Subaru China will repair the water pumps on 7,412 automobiles.

The recall affects Impreza, Forester, and Legacy models manufactured between May and November in 2008. They may break down while in operation and not start up again, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said. It added the water pump could get locked, triggering the water temperature alarm, which could break the timing belt.
