Toyota recalls 7.43 million cars worldwide
Toyota Motor Corp, Asia's biggest carmaker, today announced it will recall 7.43 million vehicles worldwide, including 1.4 million in China, to fix their faulty power-window switches.
The recall also includes 2.47 million vehicles in the United States, 1.39 million in Europe and 460,000 in Japan.
The company said it will apply special fluorine grease to the driver-side power window master switch to address its sticky feel.
It is the largest safety recall by the company since it recalled more than 10 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles worldwide in 2009 and 2010 for defects linked with unintended acceleration that caused crashes.
No accidents have been reported because of the notchy window switches, the company said.
