VW sales soar
SINO-GERMAN car venture Shanghai Volkswagen said yesterday July sales were up 26.6 percent to 82,465 units despite an industrial slowdown.
The robust sales helped Shanghai VW to maintain its position as the best-selling car maker in China.
The company said its newly introduced Tiguan sport utility vehicle was in high demand with deliveries up 13 percent from a month earlier to 8,255 units in July. A total of 18,253 Lavida sedans were sold in July.
