VW to work with FAW on advanced driving tech
Volkswagen said it has agreed to cooperate with China’s FAW Group and the China Intelligent and Connected Vehicles Research Institute on technologies including e-mobility, connectivity and autonomous driving.
Meanwhile, China’s Anhui Jianghuai Automobile (JAC Motors) will also team up with Volkswagen China and its Spanish brand SEAT to establish a research and development center by 2021.
According to a MOU signed by the three parties on Monday, the center will be dedicated to the development of electric cars that meet demands of Chinese customers as well as technology for the Internet of Vehicles and autonomous driving.
In addition, SEAT vehicles will be introduced into the Chinese market as early as 2020.
An Jin, JAC chairman, said the MOU signals deepened cooperation between JAC and Volkswagen and is another milestone in their cooperation in new energy vehicles.
An NEV joint venture between JAC and Volkswagen was founded in December 2017.
