Volvo deal may be tomorrow
A spokesman for Volvo Cars yesterday said China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group could sign a binding deal to buy the Swedish auto maker from Ford Motor Co this weekend.
Geely and Ford earlier said they expect to close the deal by the end of March. Volvo spokesman Per-Ake Froberg yesterday said the deal could be reached tomorrow, "but it's not set in stone yet." He declined to comment on the price tag. Analysts have estimated the deal at about US$2 billion.
