Cowin 2 hits Russia, Ukraine

CHERY Automobile Co said the first Ukraine-made Cowin sedans have rolled off the assembly lines and hit the Russian and Ukraine markets early this month. The Cowin 2 sedan is manufactured through semi knocked-down parts with a 51 percent local content.
The Chinese car maker said production in Ukraine would significantly boost its sales in the Commonwealth of Independent States as models enjoy zero-tariffs when sold in those markets. Chery has been making models in Ukraine since 2006 and accumulated sales have hit 70,000 units.
