Dongfeng Motor sales rise in smaller cities
DONGFENG Motor Co, Nissan's joint venture partner in China, said its total sales in the first five months of this year rose 21.6 percent from a year earlier to 368,416 units.
The company has invested 1 billion yuan (US$159 million) in a marketing campaign to boost sales in more than 130 prefecture-level cities.
The increase of sales in these cities accounted for 65 percent of the total growth across the country from January to May. The carmaker aims to sell 1 million vehicles this year and will launch three new models in the second half of this year to further drive sales at dealers.
