UP to 500 E150 electric cars produced by Beijing Auto will be given a 140,000 yuan (US$22,760) worth of purchase subsidy along with a free car plate for their promotion in the capital.
The money includes 20,000 yuan promised by the carmaker, with the rest to come from the central government and Beijing government. As last year's central-level incentive program is yet to be extended and the long-expected local incentive has not been officially confirmed, Beijing Auto ventures to offer advance payment.
That means a customer only needs to pay 109,800 yuan for the car, which carries a price tag 249,800 yuan.
