FAW Toyota recalls cars

TIANJIN FAW Toyota Motor Co began recalling 33,809 Corolla EX sedans last Tuesday to fix an engine computer malfunction.
The recall affects Corolla EX sedans manufactured between October 23, 2010 and January 29, 2011, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said on its website.
The onboard computer controlling engine functions may fail when the computer case is exposed to static electricity, making it impossible to start the engine and even causing the engine to stall, the statement added.
Corolla EX owners can contact the AQSIQ hotline on 010-59799616 or 65537365 for further information.
