Ford sees sales expand

FORD Motor China reported its July sales expanded by three percent to 32,320 units last month despite slower industry growth rates in an increasingly competitive market.

The July sales helped its wholesale to reach 306,830 units from January to July 2011, up 13 percent from the same period last year.

Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA), Ford Motor's passenger vehicle joint-venture in China, sold 185,542 Ford-brand wholesale units from January to July 2011, a 9 percent increase from the same period last year. These results were led by strong sales of the Ford Focus and the Ford Fiesta, which have sold 112,565 and 37,233 wholesale units, respectively.
