Infiniti lineup shines with human-centered design

With the 2014 Infiniti Q50 and the 2013 Infiniti JX leading its star-studded line-up at the Guangzhou Auto Show, Infiniti, a luxury car brand, is taking center stage at the car exhibition along with its human-centered design concept.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50

Scheduled for official launch in China in the first quarter of next year, the Q50 luxury sports sedan will take on the current dominant players in its segment, the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4, with a new level of emotive design. That ambition can be seen in its muscular, flowing form which blends a low stance, wide proportions with remarkable interior roominess, as well as a fresher and more confident face that features strikingly new human-eye like headlights and the distinctive signature ‘double arch’ grille.

Besides an asymmetrical division of space that emphasizes on the driver, a variety of premium comfort features are available within the Q50’s cockpit: The new INFINITI InTouchTM is the first in the car’s segment to use dual touch-screens to provide more user-friendly experience; and two world’s first technologies make their debut, which include the purely electronically controlled Direct Adaptive Steering system that can transmit the driver’s intentions to the wheels faster than a mechanical one and the Active Lane Control technology that further enhances on-center driving capability through a camera-based lane marker detection system.

Among its efficiency-centered power choices is one of the strongest hybrid systems in the world, which can take the Q50 from 0 to 60 m/h in just 4.9 seconds. And a China-specific 2.0T variant made its world premiere at the auto show yesterday as Infiniti’s first adoption of turbo-charging technologies.

The 2013 Infiniti JX

Boasting of versatility, roominess and safety, this innovative 7-seat luxury SUV designed with family customers in mind feels like a gentle reminder for one to give himself and his loved ones more time and space in life. No wonder it is the exclusive automotive sponsor of China’s most watched family program “where are we going, dad”.

Aiming to set a new benchmark for being flexible and hospitable, the seven-seater can offer a segment-leading rear cargo volume of 2,144 liters with its 3rd row seats folded, 2nd row seats in forward-most slide position, allow nearly six inches of 2nd row seat travel to provide more legroom, and enable an incredibly easy access to the 3rd row due to the wide door openings and long forward slide of the 2nd row seat.

Paying extra attention to safety issues, this family car features the world’s first Backup Collision Intervention which can help the driver detect crossing vehicles and objects behind the car when the transmission is in reverse, and even automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a collision.

A Bose®14-speaker auto system creates theater-like acoustic enjoyment along the drive. And of course, driving the JX is a kind of enjoyment itself. Powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine, the car is the first Infiniti to utilize a fuel-efficient continuously variable transmission (CVT) that provides high responsiveness and seamless, efficient shifting feel. And motorists can choose among four driving modes - standard, sport, eco and snow - depending on road and climate conditions.
