JAC, Navistar's engine venture

A joint venture between Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co and Navistar Inc to produce diesel engines has been officially approved, the National Development and Reform Commission announced on July 10.
The new company is named as JAC Navistar Engine Limited Co and has a registered capital of 600 million yuan (US$94 million), which was contributed equally by JAC and Navistar. A total of 1.8 billion yuan will be invested in the company's production of diesel engines. Annual output is expected to reach 150,000 units.
