New Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Daimler has received more than 30,000 orders for its new Mercedes-Benz S-Class luxury sedan after the popular new model hit the global market in September. That figures represents almost half of all 65,000 S-Class cars sold last year.

I had the chance to test drive the new flagship model in Hangzhou recently. The car combines a masculine ride with soft, feminine features. It cruised on a narrow road winding along the city’s famous lake without the slightest effort. The cabin was luxurious and quiet. For women, the cabin furnishings offer some sexy features. There are seven colors of ambient light to fit the mood of driver or passengers, and an aromatherapy system that emits a subtle whiff of luxurious fragrances. The new model surely has become the cornerstone of growth for Daimler after the carmaker dropped the Maybach brand.
