Skoda appoints new president

CZECH brand Skoda recently announced Dr. Gerrit A. Marx as new president of Skoda China from July 1. The company also announced Paul Willis as new COO and director of sales and marketing of Skoda at Shanghai Volkswagen as of June 1.
The 35-year-old Marx has a vast knowledge of China's auto market since holding responsibility for the commercial vehicles division of an international car manufacturer in China before his current position.
The personnel changes at Skoda China came as it aims to accelerate growth in China with the announcement to build a new compact sedan in China beginning in 2013.
Marx succeeds Alfred E Rieck who will assume a new responsibility within Volkswagen Group.
