VW's new China board
VOLKSWAGEN Group has set up a new Board of Management function for China in its latest structural and management realignment, reflecting the significance of this market for the group.
Jochem Heizmann, who has been a member of the Management Board at Volkswagen Group since February 1, 2007 and has been responsible for its Commercial Vehicles since October 1, 2010, will head the new function.
The group CEO Martin Winterkorn said VW plans to expand its production capacity in China to around four million units each year by 2018. The group has earmarked 14 billion euros (US$17.7 billion) to invest in new factories and products in China through 2016.
