AKZONOBEL, which makes specialty chemicals, paints and coatings, is optimistic growing Chinese demand for environmentally-friendly brands will help boost sales in the Dutch firm’s second-largest market.
The company has invested about 550 million euros (US$607 million) over the past five years upgrading and building facilities across China, where it continues to see stronger growth prospects than in most other markets.
Last year, AkzoNobel’s Chinese business generated revenue of 1.7 billion euros, 12 percent of its total sales.
