Burberry soars
BRITISH luxury brand Burberry said profit soared 26 percent to 376 million pounds (US$590 million) last fiscal year, as it announced a move to open larger stores under a 200 million pound investment program.
Sales at the maker of trenchcoats and check-print scarves rose 24 percent to 1.9 billion pounds in the year to the end of March, in which it opened 23 new stores including flagships in Taipei and Paris.
The Asia-Pacific was the group's biggest region, accounting for 37 percent of all sales.
