Chinese-made infant formula safe
CHINESE-MADE instant infant formula are safe, domestic dairy experts said.
The assurance came after the South China Morning Post said on Monday that three popular mainland baby formula made by Beingmate, Synutra and Yili were found to contain trans-fatty acids that experts say could lead to heart disease.
Jiang Yujun, director of the National Dairy Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, said trans-fat is a key area of its inspection against infant formula and the levels it contains won't affect infants' health.
