Deal to aid output of new drugs

GERMAN drug company Boeringer Ingelheim yesterday signed a partnership deal to provide Shanghai-based bio-pharmaceutical company Zai Lab with manufacturing capabilities for its new drugs.
Zai Lab expects the first batch of its bio-medical products to start production at BI’s manufacturing site in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang in early 2017.
Luo Jiali, general manager of Boehringer Ingelheim Biopharmaceuticals China, said the company is also discussing with several bio-pharmaceutical firms on the possibility of boosting their manufacturing capabilities.
