Gome proposal
GOME Electrical Appliances Holdings yesterday said it is talking with China's Ministry of Commerce about issues, including injecting its parent's non-listed stores into the listed company.
Fang Wei, chief finance officer of the Hong Kong-listed company, said during a shareholders' meeting in Hong Kong that the company is pushing the proposal but the final decision will depend on what the government concludes.
He also said Gome's goal of adding 480 outlets this year can be achieved though its first-quarter report revealed only 30 stores were opened under the listed unit in the first three months.
