HK retail sales rise 10.5%
HONG Kong said yesterday its total retail sales value in January, provisionally estimated at HK$47.7 billion (US$6.15 billion), rose 10.5 percent from a year earlier.
After netting out the effect of price changes over the same period, the total retail sales value rose 10.4 percent annually.
The revised estimate of total retail sales value in December, at HK$47 billion, rose 9.1 percent annually, while the total retail sales volume grew 8.5 percent.
The city is bullish over the outlook for retail business in the near term.
