Heilongjiang stores to fight fake produce
HEILONGJIANG Province will open four flagship stores for green and organic food in Shanghai as part of the provincial government’s efforts to counter fake products and create an integrated brand image of Heilongjiang food.
These stores will sell products directly from companies in the province in northeast China, E Zhongqi, chairman of the Heilongjiang Provincial Association of Green Food Exhibition and Marketing, said yesterday in Shanghai.
The association will also take the initiative to develop chain stores to better marketing products from the province, E said at the four-day 2014 Heilongjiang Green & Organic Food (Shanghai) Exhibition that will end on Saturday at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center.
The province is famed for its rice, mushroom, nuts, honey and wine, and Heilongjiang companies are disturbed by rampant counterfeits of their produce. Over 70 percent of Wuchang-branded rice sold on the market are fake, E said.
