McDonald’s seeks vital investors
MCDONALD’S Corp said it’s seeking strategic investors in key Asian markets, including China’s mainland, Hong Kong and South Korea, as it aims to quicken its expansion.
The fast-food giant wants partners who are able to enhance its competitive advantages and resources to decide locally on growth initiatives and increase capital to further invest in restaurant expansion.
McDonald’s sees the three markets as having a great growth potential for developing franchising businesses.
“This will allow McDonald’s to accelerate our growth and scale faster across diverse markets, bringing us closer to our customers and the communities we serve,” President and CEO Steve Easterbrook said in an e-mail statement yesterday.
McDonald’s aims to add more than 1,500 new stores in the three markets on top of the current 2,800 outlets already operating, according to the statement.
