Metro opens self-serve wholesale store in Jiading

METRO Cash & Carry today opened its third new store in China this year in Jiading District, bringing the total number of stores in the country to 55 as it sees strong consumer demand.
The new self-service wholesale store mainly caters to auto manufacturers and other auto-related companies in the district.
The German chain store operator will speed up its expansion in China in the second half this year with a goal of opening 10 new stores this year.
The company said it will double the number of its wholesale stores in the next three to four years to strengthen its position in the world's fastest growing economy.
