Retail Sales Dip
PRELIMINARY data showed German retail sales dipped 2.4 percent during November, reflecting the impact of the European Union's debt crisis, while exports for the month grew 0.5 percent.
The numbers were released yesterday by Germany's Federal Statistics Office, which said it expected final numbers would be better.
The office said that Germany exported goods worth 88 billion euros (US$115.2 billion) in November, a 33.3 percent jump over the same month of 2009.
Data showed Germany's economy grew by 0.7 percent in the third quarter of 2010, following a spectacular 2.3 percent growth spurt in the second quarter.
