Shanghai in Top 10
SHANGHAI has entered the world's Top 10 retail hubs for the first time while London remains the No. 1 choice for international retailers, according to research by global real estate advisor CB Richard Ellis.
The annual survey, in its third year and mapping the global footprint of 294 of the world's top retailers across 69 countries, ranked three Chinese cities in its 2010 Top 10 - Hong Kong No. 5, Beijing No. 6 and Shanghai No. 8.
"Chinese cities are starting to challenge cities traditionally renowned for their variety of international brands which has reflected the changing aspirations and tastes of Chinese consumers," said Danny Ma, senior director of CBRE Research in China.
