SHORT trips from Shanghai were popular during the weekend holiday.
The Shanghai Sightseeing Bus Center served about 7,100 tourists, up 3.8 percent from last year. Nanbei Lake and Nanxun Water Town in Zhejiang Province and Zhouzhuang Water Town in Jiangsu were the most popular one-day destinations.
In Shanghai, the Bund had 1.5 million visitors and Yuyuan Garden 1 million. Shanghai Wildlife Park had 14,500 visitors, 45 percent up on 2011, while Happy Valley amusement park had 25,000, up 47 percent.
