Swedish tissue maker to double China sales

THE world's second largest personal hygiene products maker SCA said it will keep looking for merge and acquisition opportunities in China to fuel its growth and keep a competitive edge in the fast growing market, a company executive said.
The Swedish company expects the sales of its tissue and hygiene products to double this year, Stephan Dyckerhoff, president of SCA Hygiene North Asia, said in Shanghai yesterday.
Earlier this year, the company paid US$290 million to acquire Everbeauty Corporation to expand its product range. Combined sales are expected to rise 35 percent in 2012, he added.
Dyckerhoff said SCA hopes to leverage Everbeauty's manufacturing facilities and distribution network in China to boost sales.
It also plans to introduce new brands in China in the coming years, including tissue and women hygiene products. The company's goal is to become the largest incontinence products supplier in China with a 15 percent market share by 2015, up from 10 percent now, Dyckerhoff said.
SCA's revenue in China now makes up around 5 percent of its global sales.
