Uber may list in China
UBER China may list in China as an independent entity, although the details will not be finalized in the next one or two years, a company executive said.
“We’ll continue to invest in product development and localizing our services for domestic passengers,” Liu Zhen, head of strategy at Uber China, said in an interview in Shanghai yesterday.
The company hopes to raise the efficiency of each driver and vehicle through new services such as car pooling as it seeks a more stable growth for itself and its business partners, Liu said.
She admitted that the growth in new registrations has slowed compared with the time the company first entered the country in 2013, but added that the number of Uber drivers in China “is far from saturated” and still has a large growth potential.
