5 cities to try out e-trading program
SHANGHAI is among five Chinese cities selected to try out a program for cross-border e-commerce trading, the National Development and Reform Commission and the General Administration of Customs said yesterday.
The trial project, to be launched in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Ningbo and Chongqing, aims to develop the service-oriented industry, said Lu Bin, vice director of the General Administration of Customs.
Local customs bureau and other related government agencies will simplify their clearance procedures and boost the process for tax rebates, foreign exchange settlement and other services.
The trial is expected to help authorities create a set of standard rules for cross-border e-commerce trading and management protocols.
