THE European Union's executive commission is calling for stronger economic governance in the 27-nation bloc to avoid a repeat of the Greek debt crisis which is threatening the eurozone currency union.
EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso says there is a "real sense of urgency" for European governments to boost growth and smooth out major differences between their economies.
Barroso said yesterday Europe has to rebalance demand across member countries.
