Chengdu fair expects 80,000 participants
ORGANIZERS of the Western China International Fair say IT, equipment manufacturing and advanced materials industries will power the economic growth of the region.
"Current economic situation calls for broader cooperation among neighboring provinces and with neighboring countries," Yang Qinglong, deputy secretary general of the fair, told Shanghai media today. "The fair will focus on industrial products and highlight advantages of the western region."
The 14th Western China International Fair, the largest trade fair in the region, will run from October 23-27 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province. The fair will have 180,000 square meters of show space.
The organizers expect to attract 80,000 traders to the fair this year.
