Chile, China ties

The economic link between China and Chile will strengthen through efforts to boost bilateral investment and exchange of talents, an official from Chile said.
Chilean Minister of Economy Juan Andres Fontaine Talavera yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with both Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Technology Innovation Center. The center is a government-backed institution to incubate technology enterprises and encourage the exchange of talents and entrepreneurs with other countries.
He said Chile is offering subsidies and preferential policies for the establishment of clean energy, bio-technology, and information technology firms in the South American country.
