China FDI rises 10.44% in first 2 months

CHINA’S foreign direct investment rose 10.44 percent from a year earlier in the first two months of this year, the Ministry of Commerce said this morning.

Foreign investors channeled US$19.31 billion into China during the period, led by cash infusions into the service sector that absorbed US$10.6 billion, up 25.54 percent year on year.

The increase was bolstered by investment from the United States, which jumped 43.26 percent to US$711 million. However, investment from the European Union fell 13.82 percent to US$1.04 billion.
