China official PMI in May falls to 50.4

CHINA'S official Purchasing Managers' Index, a gauge of manufacturing activity slanted more towards state-owned firms, dropped to 50.4 in May, compared with 53.5 in April, according to the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. A reading of 50 or higher generally indicates that activity is expanding.
