China tops Russian trade
CHINA was Russia's top trade partner in the first seven months of the year, with bilateral trade volume of US$49.8 billion, the Russian Federal Customs Service said on Tuesday.
The bilateral trade rose 10.9 percent annually, the agency said in its regular report.
Russia and China have set a goal of lifting bilateral trade to US$100 billion by 2015 and US$200 billion by 2020.
China was followed by the Netherlands, whose trade volume with Russia during the period surged 31.1 percent to US$49.3 billion, and Germany, also at US$49.3 billion, the agency said.
The report said the European Union has played an important role in Russia's foreign trade, as 49 percent of Russia's trade turnover in the January-July period was with EU countries.
