China's FDI down 6.1% in March, 5th month running

FOREIGN direct investment in China dropped for the fifth straight month in March as European investors continued to cut their spending.

By contrast, investment from Asian and American businesses picked up against the broad trend.

Inbound foreign investment fell 6.1 percent from a year earlier to US$11.7 billion in March, the Ministry of Commerce said this morning.

The decline was glaring compared with a 0.9 percent dip in February.
