China's consumer confidence climbs in November

CHINESE consumers showed more confidence in economic outlook and were more willing to buy large household items in November, Market News International (MNI) said in a report today.
The MNI index, a measure of consumer sentiment in China, reached 95.5 in November from 92.3 in October, rising for a second straight month, said MNI, a unit of Deutsche Boerse Group.
Gains were broad-based from personal finances to economic outlook. Consumers' willingness to purchase household durables such as cars rose to the highest since May 2011. Sentiment at the property and stock markets both recovered marginally, said MNI.
The rising sentiment was seen in all the regions across China for the first time since June. Meanwhile, expectation for improved business conditions in the next 12 months and the next five years rose to the highest level since June, according to the MNI report.
The survey was done between November 1 and 19 with 1,012 respondents.
