City Posts Boost In Industrial Production

SHANGHAI'S industrial output grew in September by the fastest pace in 13 months as the government stimulus effort continued to pay off.
Industrial production jumped 9 percent last month from a year ago, the biggest monthly gain since August, 2008, according to data released yesterday by the Shanghai Statistics Bureau.
Output rose for the fourth consecutive month after declining for seven months.
For the first three quarters, production edged down 2.1 percent, improving from a 3.8 percent decline in the January-August period.
