City to hire 200 professionals
SHANGHAI plans to hire 200 financial professionals during its fourth overseas recruitment to bolster the city's ambition to become a global financial center by 2020.
The high-end recruitment, that kicked off yesterday and will last until the year-end, will be held in three forms - overseas recruitment, headhunter recommendations and online interviews jointly launched with overseas human resources agencies.
The previous three sessions of overseas recruitment attracted 7,000 participants and helped local banks and other financial institutions to hire 120 professionals with rich overseas working experience, according to the Shanghai Financial Services Office.
Ling Xuezhen, deputy director of the financial derivatives department at Orient Securities Co, was one of the professionals lured by the city's incentives following the 2008 global economic crisis. He returned to the country after working on Wall Street for a decade.
Shanghai has already launched a series of initiatives to attract and retain financial professionals by addressing their quality-of-life concerns such as health care and education.
