Confidence down
CONFIDENCE in China's small businesses retreated in the second quarter of this year as economic slowdown and decreasing demands added to concerns of investment skeptics, Standard Chartered Bank said yesterday. The lender reported its China small and medium-sized enterprises confidence index dropped 3.48 percentage points to 54.15 points in the second quarter from the previous one. The sub indices that measure confidence in business operation and investment fell the most, according to the bank, while outlook for the macro-economy and financing environment warmed up compared with the first quarter.
