Construction starts

CONSTRUCTION started yesterday on 55 projects in Shanghai's Pudong New Area with investment totaling more than 20 billion yuan (US$3.08 billion).
About two-thirds of the projects involve new energy, biochemistry and civil aviation, officials said.
Phase 2 construction on the assembly center for China's first home-made jumbo jet started yesterday. Phase 1 was completed at the end of last year.
The bulk of the projects are in Jinqiao Export Processing Zone, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Kangqiao Industrial Zone, Nanhui Industrial Zone and Shanghai International Medical Zone.
