External debt
THE Chinese mainland's outstanding external debt reached US$546.4 billion at the end of September, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange said yesterday.
Of the total outstanding external debt, the outstanding registered external debt was US$326.5 billion and the balance of trade credit was US$219.9 billion, SAFE said.
In terms of the types of debt, the balance of international commercial loans amounted to US$254.6 billion, or nearly 78 percent of the outstanding registered external debt, with the proportion rising 3.54 percentage points compared with that at the end of 2009.
