Fewer employers willing to hire more staff in China, survey finds
FEWER employers in China plan to expand recruitment in the fourth quarter with lower expectations on expansion, online recruitment portal 51job.com said in a report today.
The website found 80.3 percent respondents said they will hire more staff in the fourth quarter than they did in the same period of last year, according to a survey covering 15,464 employers conducted between July and September. The reading was almost unchanged from the fourth quarter last year but was 8.2 percentage points lower than the third quarter.
The survey found 38.8 percent respondents said they are expanding headcount due to business expansion, falling from 47 percent last quarter.
Meanwhile, needs to fill job vacancies and create talent reserves became the causes for more employers to expand recruitment, the survey found.
