Fiscal revenue rises
CHINA'S fiscal revenue jumped 41.5 percent year on year in February to 699.7 billion yuan (US$106.5 billion), the Ministry of Finance said yesterday in Beijing.
The central government's fiscal revenue topped 375.53 billion yuan, up 50.8 percent from the previous year. Local governments gathered a combined 324.17 billion yuan, the ministry said on its website.
The February data took the January-February fiscal revenue to 1.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 36 percent from the same period of last year.
The ministry attributed the strong fiscal revenue growth to increases in taxes on imports, rapid economic growth and price hikes.
The ministry said fiscal revenue growth would slow in the coming months due to the government's tightening measures.
