Germany To Grow Under 1% In 2012
AN independent panel of economists that advises the German government is forecasting that growth in Europe's biggest economy will slip below 1 percent next year.
The panel's annual report, released yesterday, predicted that the German economy will grow by 0.9 percent in 2012, following a growth of 3 percent this year - just a little slower than the 2010 figure of 3.6 percent.
Germany's strong growth has been led by exports and rising domestic demand. But the economy is slowing amid a cooling global outlook and debt troubles in the eurozone.
